Adam Brody checks ‘Baggage Claim’
Adam Brody is ready to service the skies, booking a flight to the set of Fox Searchlight’s romantic comedy “Baggage Claim.”
David E. Talbert (“First Sunday”) is writing, directing and producing the adaptation of his own bestselling 2003 novel.
Paula Patton stars as an unmarried flight attendant who becomes determined to find a man as her younger sister’s wedding approaches. Derek Luke co-stars as her long-time friend and potential love interest.
Brody will play the other male lead, a flamboyant flight attendant who works alongside Patton and Octavia Spencer. He devises a plan to help the protag get engaged before Christmas and works with a team of airport personnel to make sure she crosses paths with several ex-boyfriends who are traveling during the course of the story.
Taye Diggs, Djimon Hounsou, Lauren London and Jill Scott co-star in the pic, which is currently in production.
Role will provide a change of pace for Brody, who will soon be seen playing “Deep Throat” star Harry Reems alongside Amanda Seyfried in “Lovelace.” UTA-repped thesp recently starred opposite Greta Gerwig in Whit Stillman’s “Damsels in Distress” and played Keira Knightley’s boyfriend in “Seeking a Friend For the End of the World.” He also has a trio of indie pics awaiting release including Julian Farino’s “The Oranges,” Rob Meltzer’s comedy “Welcome to the Jungle” and an adaptation of Neil LaBute’s play “Some Girls,” which co-stars Kristen Bell, Zoe Kazan and Jennifer Morrison.
